Editing
I am currently an associate editor of three professional journals: the Journal of Medical Ethics published by BMJ, Clinical Ethics (SAGE), and IJIR, the sexual medicine journal of Nature. I have also served as guest editor for other journals, including the Medical Law Review (Oxford University Press) and PLOS ONE. With Jonathan Lewis, I edit the Experimental Philosophy - Bioethics page at PhilPapers, and with Oxford's Dominic Wilkinson and Roger Crisp, I edit the Practical Ethics blog.
I sit on the international editorial advisory boards of four journals: The American Journal of Bioethics, Public Affairs Quarterly, Culture, Health & Sexuality, and Archives of Sexual Behavior, and have previously been an assistant or associate editor at Technology in Society, The Philosopher, and the Yale Journal of Law & Humanities. I am past editor in chief of the Yale Philosophy Review and the Yale Review of Undergraduate Research in Psychology.
As a freelance book manuscript editor, I have worked on Blueprint: The Evolutionary Origins of a Good Society (Nicholas Christakis, 2019); Against Empathy: The Case for Rational Compassion (Paul Bloom, Ecco, 2016); Just Babies: The Origins of Good and Evil (Paul Bloom, Crown Publishers, 2013); and How Pleasure Works: The New Science of Why We Like What We Like (Paul Bloom, WW Norton & Co., 2010).
With Clare Chambers and Lori Watson, I edited the Routledge Handbook for Philosophy of Sex and Sexuality (Routledge, 2022). And I have served as a professional peer reviewer for more than 100 scholarly journals spanning philosophy, psychology, bioethics, medicine, law, sociology, anthropology, and other areas:
